Airtel Africa Foundation brings tech scholarships to Zambia
The Airtel Africa Foundation is extending its technology fellowship initiative into Zambia to provide specialized education to underprivileged youth. Operating through Airtel Zambia, the program aims to fund 50 students over a five-year period. These scholars will pursue degrees focused on ICT and technology at both the University of Zambia and Copperbelt University. The financial support package includes tuition fees, housing, laptops, internet access, and monthly stipends, supplemented by professional mentorship.
This expansion serves to cultivate a specialized workforce capable of driving the digital economy within the region. By removing financial barriers to higher education, the fellowship helps build a sustainable pipeline of technical talent. For the broader business landscape, increasing the availability of skilled professionals can facilitate smoother transitions as companies adopt new digital tools and modernize their operational workflows.
