Amazon offers the first major price drop on the MacBook Air M5

During Amazon's October Prime Day, the 13-inch MacBook Air featuring the M5 chip saw its price drop by $200 for the first time in several months. Currently available at Amazon, the 512GB storage model has been reduced to $1,099 from its typical $1,299 retail price. Additionally, the 15-inch variant with 512GB of storage is now priced at $1,299, down from its original $1,499 cost.

These discounts effectively offset the price hikes Apple implemented in June. The 2026 MacBook Air lineup offers enhanced processing speeds and storage performance compared to earlier iterations. While the 13-inch model provides a more affordable entry point, the 15-inch version offers upgraded graphical capabilities through extra GPU cores and an expanded six-speaker audio system.
