Power issues could delay Oracle's new AI data center in Wisconsin
Oracle's planned artificial intelligence data center in Port Washington, Wisconsin, may fail to meet its 2027 operational deadline. According to analysis from research firm Aterio, the Project Lighthouse facility—managed by Vantage with Oracle as the primary tenant—is currently stalled while waiting for essential transmission infrastructure to receive regulatory clearance. This delay threatens Oracle's goal of providing capacity to clients during the latter half of next year.
These infrastructure hurdles could signal broader difficulties for Oracle's large-scale expansion efforts. The company recently issued a force majeure notice regarding Project Jupiter in New Mexico, a move suggesting it may seek to postpone payments if that site also fails to launch on schedule. For the enterprise sector, such delays in high-capacity computing availability might necessitate adjustments to how organizations manage digital workflows, including the creation and reporting of financial documentation.
