SpaceX moves ahead with new Starlink satellites while Amazon faces delays
SpaceX is preparing for a significant mission involving the deployment of its first Starlink V3 satellites. This operation utilizes the Starship vehicle, which will also attempt its inaugural entry into Earth orbit. The mission aims to launch 26 upgraded satellites into low Earth orbit to enhance the existing Starlink constellation.
This development highlights a growing gap in the satellite internet market. While SpaceX advances its next-generation hardware, Amazon is currently facing delays with its launch providers. These setbacks have prevented Amazon from deploying its own low Earth orbit satellites, hindering its ability to establish a direct competitor to the Starlink service.
