Vivo X Fold 6 global launch brings back an older foldable design style
Following its initial June debut in China, the Vivo X Fold 6 is now preparing for a worldwide launch. The device features a 6.51-inch external screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio, which unfolds to reveal an 8.02-inch nearly square internal panel. While the hardware includes an IP59 rating, the display shows a noticeable crease compared to contemporary competitors.
The timing of this global rollout makes the handset appear dated, as its dimensions and proportions mirror older foldable designs. Most recent industry leaders, including Samsung and Apple, have transitioned toward wider, shorter form factors. Consequently, the X Fold 6 maintains the traditional shape used by previous generations rather than adopting the newer ergonomic standards currently defining the foldable market.
